Hp Laserjet 1010 Print Performance:
The Hp Laserjet 1010’s print speeds are not the best in its class. The paper tray holds about 175 sheets of 20-pound paper, and it can handle single sheets as well. It has all the usual features, including 2-sided printing, color scanning, and copying. Although this printer is not wireless or multifunctional, it is still an excellent choice for home use. Hp Laserjet 1010 Ink / Cartridges:
This equipment is used by junior high school students, so the material being printed should be appropriate for audiences of that age range. Throughout the semester we will be using HP brand solid ink sticks (black and tri-color), bond paper, cardstock (65lb cover was chosen based on availability during testing), and glossy photo paper ( in both 4×6 and 5×7 sizes).
For the black cartridge, we began our tests with a full stick of ink and continued to print until the stick was depleted. After running out of ink, we inserted a new stick and printed until that stick was also depleted. We recorded the page yield for each test.
The tri-color cartridge was tested in a similar manner. However, due to the lower page yield of the tri-color cartridge, we only printed until the cartridge was depleted on one occasion. This gave us a total of 7 pages printed with the tri-color cartridge.
We then measured how long it took to print each document on both bond paper and photo paper. The time it took to print each document was averaged and used to calculate the average print speed for each type of paper.
